The crew training Manager works in close cooperation with the Flight Operations Manager RW/Chief Pilot and is a Nominated Person accepted by the Luxembourgish Aviation Authority. He is directly responsible for flight training issues that affect the day-to-day operational and commercial activities of the company.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Implement the policy, standards and procedures into all training, examination and checking, in coordination with the Flight Operations Manager
  • Ensure the safe and efficient conduct of all pilot/TCM trainings, in accordance with the regulations Part-Ops, Part-FCL and Luxembourgish law
  • Enable safe conduct of training/check flights
  • Monitor validities of trainings
  • Ascertain that all instructors/examiners are suitably qualified to conduct trainings/checkings
  • Implement legal requirements, maintain, revise and distribute OM Part D
  • Set-up training and checking program in close cooperation with Flight Operations Manager
  • Define norms and standards for training and qualification of crews, instructors and examiners
  • Obtain approval for training programs, examinations and proficiency checks from the Authorities
  • Train, examine and check current Commanders, Technical Crew Members to the standards mentioned in the OM Part D
  • Assure that traceable training records are made as required by the relevant Authority and laid down in the OM
  • Plan and publish sufficient amounts of initial and recurrent training in a timely manner
  • Ensure the availability of a sufficient number of properly qualified instructors and examiners
  • Ensure the availability of sufficient training aids, facilities and contracted courses
  • Organize and have executed the planned recurrent training and checking programs
  • Organize and have executed the planned amount of initial training in coordination with the flight operations manager
  • Coordinate flight safety and operational training items with the HoT, the TRIs, TREs and LTCs

Essential skills:

 

  • 3 years in an equivalent management position
  • Comprehensive knowledge of:
    • Applicable EU safety, Part-FCL and Air-Ops regulations
    • The AOC holders operations specification
  • 10 years experience as Pilot in Command
  • Familiarity with management system preferably in the area of aviation
  • Current and active type rating instructor / examiner on MD902 and/or H145 D2
  • Strong presentation, influencing and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in a multi-cultural, international organization
  • Fluency of spoken and written English is mandatory. German and/or French are considered as an advantage.
  • Ability to live and work in the European Union
  • Flexibility to travel as required away from the Head Office

Nice to have:

 

  • NVG experience
  • HEMS operation experience

  • Perform and certify maintenance tasks in accordance to Aircraft Maintenance Manuals, EASA regulations and internal procedures & standards
  • Supporting the expanding maintenance activities of the MD900/902 and H145 in Luxembourg
  • Ensuring ground handling duties on a regular basis
  • Assisting the flight crews on technical matters
  • Providing on-site technical support in case of AOG
  • Reporting job progress, possible delays or the need of extra work to the superior and to the customer
  • Participating in projects and collaborations abroad

Your Profile:

 

Qualifications & Knowledge

  • Holding a valid EASA Part-66 Cat. B2 license (mandatory); a first working experience on aircraft type MD900/902 and/or H145 is considered as an asset
  • Being computer literate (MS Office); experience in Maintenance Management System would be an advantage
  • Being fluent in English (mandatory); Luxembourgish, German and/or French are considered as an asset
  • Living in the vicinity (60 min.) of Luxembourg Airport is required

Luxembourg Air Ambulance S.A. (EASA Part 145 organisation) is based at Luxembourg Airport. We fly medical repatriation missions worldwide and perform organ team transport (24/7). Senior Aircraft Maintenance Manager (m/f)

EASA Part 145

(Permanent contract and full time position)


 

 

This function involves the overseeing of the maintenance department: PART145 FW & RW including the Part 145 company stock.

 

The Senior Aircraft Maintenance Manager will direct, manage, coordinate and monitor all maintenance/material actions necessary to retain or restore aircraft, material, equipment or components to a serviceable condition with a minimum expenditure of resources in the most efficient practical manner to drive a safe and reliable fleet, in accordance with all applicable EASA regulations.

 

Shall be responsible for supervising the day-to-day maintenance task and has the authority to direct the work centers and personnel to accomplish all maintenance actions as required to accomplish the mission.

 

Principal Accountabilities:

 

  • Reports to the CEO,
  • Technical advices to the Chief Operating Officer,
  • Responsible of keeping the Part145 duly approved,
  • Managing and supervision of the Part145 FW & RW,
  • Managing and supervision of technical supplies,
  • Development of internal procedures and checklists,
  • Maintenance productivity and efficiency analysis and follow-up,
  • Any other additional tasks requested by the COO or the CEO

 

Skills requirement:

 

  • In depth knowledge of EASA Part 145 requirements,
  • Good airplane and/or helicopter system knowledge,
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of aircraft standard maintenance and component maintenance (at least 15 years),
  • Experience in business aviation is considered as a strong asset,
  • You have strong management and leadership skills,
  • Familiar in standard applications of MS Office,
  • Knowledge of Maintenance Software i.e. AMOS is considered as an advantage,
  • Fluency in written and spoken English,
  • Any other language skills are considered as an asset,
  • You are a team leader with a very pragmatic and proactive approach,

 

Qualifications & Experience:

 

  • University degree in a technical discipline (e.g.: aerospace technology, mechanical, electrical) and/ or an extensive long-term experience in the Engineering or Maintenance section of a CAT operator and/or MRO.,
  • Minimum 10 Years experience as Manager in CAMO and/or Part 145 environment.

License

  • EASA CPL(H) license
  • Valid EASA IR(H) Multi Engine
  • Valid EASA Medical class 1

Flight experience

 

  • 2000 FH on helicopter
  • 1500 FH as PIC RW
  • 500 FH as PIC on Multi-Engine
  • 250 FH IR as PIC RW
  • 200 FH at night on RW
  • 100 FH NVG as PIC RW

 

Following licenses and experiences are considered as asset:

 

  • ASA ATPL(H) theory
  • TRE(H)
  • FI(H)
  • NVG / NVG instructor
  • HEMS and HHO experience
  • Firefighting experience

 

Fluency in English is mandatory, German and/or French are considered as an advantage

Home base is Luxembourg. Relocation is required (max 1h to Luxembourg Airport)
